Allow me to introduce myself.
The title was 100% inspired by Jay-Z. In case you were wondering. I am Abi, a former educator turned user experience designer.
Words cannot describe how excited I am to be writing this post right now. The idea of blogging and providing resources for others has been in the back of my mind since 2014. I remember signing up for a Wordpress account shortly after moving to Texas. Going through the steps of creating the actual blog, I quickly experienced this mental block and had NO idea where to go after it’s inception.
Eight years later, I’ve realized that creating a plan for the blog would have been really useful back then, so here we are - a blog and a plan of action.
So, why now?
With my official transition out of education and into the creative side of tech, I experienced first hand how scary it was venturing into something new and stepping out of that oh-so-cozy comfort zone. It would have been so nice to read or even hear about someone’s experience as they transitioned careers.
Now, I know this exists, I do. But everyone’s story is unique, and I’m hoping that my story can help others and that I can provide useful resources for anyone interested in UX.
I’ll preface this by saying, I am NOT an expert on a lot. What I talk about will be rooted in fact and pulled from reputable sources, but I’ll definitely provide my opinion and not shy away from being honest and transparent.
